Where this record sits
Manchester on this site includes Salford, Trafford, Stockport, Oldham, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale, Wigan and Tameside. Warrington, Preston and Macclesfield are not on this list.
Brick terraces and later suburbs run across the city and those neighbouring towns. Check the town on the address before you assume the firm is in the centre.
Qualifications on the record
FENSA is a competent-person scheme for replacement windows and doors in England and Wales. The name is on this page because it is on the record.
Local Trades UK does not award this scheme and does not guarantee the work. The name above opens that scheme's own search. This site does not run the search and does not pass the job on.
How to read a price for this kind of work
A window price should say whether the frame, the glass, making good and taking the old unit away are included. This site does not price the job.
What to ask before you phone
When you phone CITY GLASS(MANCHESTER)CO. LIMITED, use this record as the starting point: Lynto House, 2 Piccadilly Trading Estate, Manchester, M1 2NP. Ask whether they will visit your postcode, then ask the questions that match the work.

Replacing a window like for like is a different job from cutting a new opening. Listed buildings and conservation areas can need consent. FENSA, when it is on the record, is a competent-person scheme. This site does not issue it.
- Is the quote for the glass only, or for the frame, the sill and making good?
- Is the old unit taken away?
- Does the opening stay the same size?
- If the building is listed or in a conservation area, who deals with consent?
