Get a quote by phoning the business yourself.

Choose a city and a trade. This form opens the list already published for that choice. You phone, email, or open the website on the record, and you ask that business for the price.

  • The list opens without an account.
  • You speak to the business yourself.
  • The price is theirs to give.

Choose a city and a trade

Leave City on Any to open the trade on its own. Leave Trade on Any to open the city on its own. Choose both to open that pair. Leave both on Any to open the full directory.

The form has these two fields. It does not take your name, your phone number, or a description of the work, and it does not forward a message. With JavaScript, the button opens the matching list. Without it, the directory opens and keeps the city and trade in the address.

On the list

  1. 01

    Read the card

The card names the business, where it works and the phone number to use. A website, an email, a qualification or 24-hour cover appears when the record already holds it.

  2. 02

    Ask them for the price

The call, the email and the website visit are yours. A reply, a visit and a written price stay between you and that business.

  3. 03

Use a blank as a blank

If a line is missing, it was not on the record. Ask the business for that detail when you speak to them.

What to check before you ask

The list is a set of records you can contact. These are the checks that sit beside the phone number.

Cities and neighbouring towns

The directory covers London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and Bristol. Each city page says which neighbouring towns sit on that list, so you can match them to the address on a card.

Qualifications

Gas Safe, NICEIC, NAPIT, TrustMark or FENSA is printed when that qualification is already on the record. Local Trades UK does not award it and does not guarantee the work.

Pounds, grants and calculators

A cost page and a grant page name a source and the date they were checked. Amounts are in pounds. The figure is a reference before you ask a business for a price. The calculators run in the browser, and what you type stays on this device.

Where a record comes from

Company registers, public qualification registers, trade association directories, and records entered by hand. A field that is not on the record is left blank.

Malta

Homes in Malta are a separate directory. Prices there are in euro and the phone numbers use +356. Open the Malta directory. This form stays on the United Kingdom lists.

Polish and Romanian

The same United Kingdom lists can be opened in Polski and Română. The business name stays as published, and you still make contact yourself.

Open a page without the form

Each link below is the list itself. Pick the trade, the city, or go back to every business.

Questions before you open the list

Where does a quote come from?

A quote comes from the business on the list. You ask by phone, by email, or on the website printed on the record. Local Trades UK does not prepare the price.

Which page does the form open?

A city and a trade together open the list for that pair. A city on its own opens that city. A trade on its own opens that trade. With both left on Any, the form opens the full directory. If JavaScript is off, the directory opens with the city and trade kept in the address.

Why is there no box for the job?

The work is described to the business, in your own call or email. This page takes a city and a trade. It does not take your name, your phone number, or a description of the work, and it does not forward a message.

Does a business have to reply?

A reply is up to that business. This site does not stay on the call and does not promise an answer.

Is a figure on a cost page a quote?

A cost page names a source and the date it was checked. The amount is in pounds, and it is a reference before you ask a business for a price.

How is a record corrected or removed?

Email support@localtradesuk.com with the business name, the city, the trade and the address of the record. The privacy page sets out that request. The directory is run by localtradesuk.
