Email support@localtradesuk.com Who publishes the site

What to put in the email

Write to support@localtradesuk.com. You do not need an account. There is no charge for a correction or a removal.

  1. The business name, as it appears on the page.
  2. The city, or Malta if the record is on the Malta section.
  3. The trade.
  4. The address of the record, copied from the browser.

Once that email identifies the record, the correction or the removal is made within 48 hours. If two records could match, the reply asks which one you mean.

Who this notice is from

localtradesuk operates localtradesuk.com. The public name is Local Trades UK. For anything in this notice, write to support@localtradesuk.com. This page does not publish a company number or a VAT number. The about page says what the directory does.

The notice covers every page on this domain: the United Kingdom lists, the Malta section, and the Polish and Romanian entrances. The Polish and Romanian pages explain the same United Kingdom lists in those languages. Malta prices are in euro. United Kingdom prices are in pounds.

Business details on a public page

A listing can show a business name, one or more trades, a city, a phone number, and an address or a service area. When the record already holds them, it can also show a website, an email, opening hours, 24-hour cover, a qualification, a founding year, and a short description. A field that is missing stays off the page.

A sole trader’s name and phone number can be personal data. The line repeats details that already appear on a public company register, including Companies House, on a public qualification register, in a trade association directory, or on the business’s own website. Some lines are typed in by hand from those kinds of sources. Publishing the line lets a homeowner phone a business whose details are already public for that trade.

On a United Kingdom record, Gas Safe, NICEIC, NAPIT, TrustMark, or FENSA is shown only when the record already has it. On a Malta record, a Malta qualification such as a REWS authorisation is shown only when the record already has it. United Kingdom businesses and Malta businesses are kept on separate lists. The site does not publish a review score, and there is no form for sending a review.

Your email and the contact form

An email to support@localtradesuk.com includes your email address and the words you write. It is read so the record can be found and the change can be made. That address is not added to a mailing list.

The form on Get contact details asks for a city and a trade, then opens the matching list. It has no field for your name, your phone number, or a description of the job, so those details are not stored from the form. A call or an email you then send to a business goes to that business.

The same support address is how you ask what an email of yours contains, how you object to a listing, and how you ask for a copy of a message you sent. Name the record, or name the message. A request to see or delete the contents of an email you sent is answered within one month. A correction or a removal of the listing itself, once the record is identified, still follows the 48-hour period above.

Calculators and page counts

Five calculators run in the browser: roof area, heating power, heat-pump savings, a renovation budget, and hourly rates. The figures you type stay on your device. They are not uploaded.

A first-party page count, where one is kept, records that a page was opened. It is not attached to your name, your email, or a phone number. It stays with localtradesuk. It is not sold, and it is not used to recognise you on other websites. This page is the notice for that count. The site does not set a cookie in order to sign you in, because there is no sign-in.

How long a message is kept

A listing stays up while the public details still support it. After a confirmed removal, that record comes down.

An email about a record is kept long enough to make the change and to show what was changed. It is not kept as a marketing file.

Complaints

Write to support@localtradesuk.com first, and include the record you mean. If you are unhappy with the reply, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office in the United Kingdom. For a record on the Malta section, you can complain to the Information and Data Protection Commissioner in Malta.

A later change to this notice replaces the wording on this page. The date at the top is the date of the wording you are reading.

Questions about a record

What should the email include?

Send the business name, the city or Malta, the trade, and the address of the record to support@localtradesuk.com. You do not need an account. If two records could match, the reply asks which one you mean.

How soon is a listing changed?

Once the email identifies the record, the correction or the removal is made within 48 hours. There is no charge for a removal.

Where do the published details come from?

A record repeats details already on a public company register, including Companies House, a public qualification register, a trade association directory, or the business’s own website. Some lines are typed in by hand from those kinds of sources. A missing field is left off the page.

Does the contact form store my name?

The contact-details form asks for a city and a trade, then opens that list. It has no field for your name, your phone number, or a description of the job, so those details are not stored from the form.

Do the calculators upload measurements?

The five calculators run in the browser. The figures you type stay on your device and are not uploaded.

Do page counts name me?

A first-party page count, where one is kept, records that a page was opened. It is not attached to your name, your email, or a phone number. It is not sold, and it is not used to recognise you on other websites.

Where can I complain?

Write to support@localtradesuk.com first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office in the United Kingdom. For a record on the Malta section, you can complain to the Information and Data Protection Commissioner in Malta.
