Where this record sits
Bristol here includes the built-up edge: Filton, Patchway, Bradley Stoke, Kingswood, Keynsham and Long Ashton. Bath, Weston-super-Mare and Yate are not on this list.
Hills and older streets are common, and a job a short distance away can still be a different town. Read the address before you phone.
Qualifications on the record
TrustMark is a government-endorsed scheme for home trades. The name is on this page because it is on the record.
Local Trades UK does not award this scheme and does not guarantee the work. The name above opens that scheme's own search. This site does not run the search and does not pass the job on.
How to read a price for this kind of work
A window price should say whether the frame, the glass, making good and taking the old unit away are included. This site does not price the job.
What to ask before you phone
When you phone POLAR BEAR WINDOWS LIMITED, use this record as the starting point: Jarretts Garden Centre, Bath Road, Willsbridge, Bristol, BS30 6EE. Ask whether they will visit your postcode, then ask the questions that match the work.
Ask whether the quote is for the glass only, or for the frame, the sill and making good.
Replacing a window like for like is a different job from cutting a new opening. Listed buildings and conservation areas can need consent. FENSA, when it is on the record, is a competent-person scheme. This site does not issue it.
- Is the quote for the glass only, or for the frame, the sill and making good?
- Is the old unit taken away?
- Does the opening stay the same size?
- If the building is listed or in a conservation area, who deals with consent?
